Requirements for admission to the Sacrament of Communion
- be at least 7 years of age and be in 2nd Class at the time of Holy Communion.
- They must be Baptised Catholics.
- A Certificate of Baptism must is all cases be provided.
- If they attend a school other that a Catholic school, they are required to have taken part in Catholic Religion classes for two years prior to the ceremony.
If this is not the case, admission to the Sacrament will be postponed until preparation has been completed.
My Child is not Baptised.
Children who have not been baptised will be need to be prepared for the Sacrament. This will take a minimum of 6 months.
A requirement for the Baptism of any child in the Catholic church is, that at least one of the parents be Roman Catholic, and can provide a Baptism certificate.
